Hi, I’m Mai, Founder & Owner of Posey to the Dawn 🤍
Posey to the Dawn was founded in Australia and began from a very personal frustration of my own.
While working in Australia, I noticed that many professions here do not allow employees to wear nails to work. On top of that, salon nails are incredibly expensive, and with such a busy lifestyle, every appointment took so much time - from traveling to the salon to sitting there for hours. Sometimes the nails would only last one or two weeks before lifting or breaking, while also damaging my natural nails.
I remember getting my nails done to celebrate my birthday in December, only to remove them a week later because I had to return to work where nails were not allowed. It felt frustrating spending so much money and time for something I barely got to enjoy. Between fully booked salons, inconsistent quality, and my own busy schedule, I started asking myself: why are we sacrificing so much time and money for something that still doesn’t always feel worth it?
That’s when I started looking for alternatives I could do at home. But buying professional equipment and learning salon techniques myself felt unrealistic, especially since I’m not a nail artist.
While researching, I discovered press-on nails. At first, I loved the idea - beautiful nails that could be applied at home within minutes. But after trying different brands, I realized the experience still wasn’t what I was looking for.
Finding the right size was difficult, as most brands only offered S / M / L sizing. Many designs felt overly decorated or too flashy for my personal style. I’ve always been drawn to nails that feel timeless, elegant, classic, and clean. And when I finally found styles I liked, the quality often disappointed me - many felt thin, plastic-like, unnatural, and broke easily.
That’s when I thought to myself:
“I’ll do it myself.”
I created Posey to the Dawn because I wanted nails that fit seamlessly into real life - nails that look elevated and luxurious, but are still effortless, wearable, and easy to apply at home. I wanted press-ons that felt salon quality without the damage, the long appointments, or the pressure of keeping them on for weeks.
Every design is created with the belief that beauty should feel easy, confident, and natural - something that fits into your lifestyle, not something you have to plan your life around.
And that became the beginning of Posey to the Dawn 🤍
